After losing possession, a team doesn't go backwards. Instead, they push forward to get win back the ball.
In defensive situations, a player covers an area and not an individual opponent.
When a team plays with the players close together to limit the opposition's space.
When an attacking moves backwards to help in defence.
When a team goes from attack to defence or defence to attack.
In defensive situations, when defenders follow individual opponents.
When a team is happy to defend and then counter attack.
This is the vertical space between two players. For example, the space between a centre back and a full back.
This is the horizontal space between two sets of players. For example, between the defence and midfield.
An attacking player who can keep the ball in order to relieve pressure on the defence.
